Primarily serving the neighborhoods of East Dayton, New China is a discount Chinese takeout restaurant the focus on getting convenient, quick Chinese food to local residents from its relatively small storefront along Linden Avenue. The spot has a number of specials for take out or delivery with a pretty typical menu for a Chinese spot. Not a whole lot of surprises in store at this place, but you will occasionally find a bright spot on the menu. The food is timely, and it’s inexpensive, and I suppose that’s all you can really ask for.
China Bell is one of many restaurants along the Gallatin Pike stretch near Hendersonville, Tennessee. It’s most apparent as a place that offers takeout and delivery Chinese food to this north Nashville suburb, and if you take a look at the menu, you’ll further see it’s aiming to be a cost-friendly place. Of course, your typical Chinese food items are on the menu, all at pretty reasonable prices. All told, you’ll save a lot of money here, though some better dining options aren’t that far away.
Completing the triumvirate of Chinese food shops serving the Beavercreek suburb of Dayton, Asian King is a spot that caters primarily as a delivery service to the nearby neighborhoods, competing against China King which serves as a buffet and New Great Wall Chinese across the street with its carry-out business. Asian King keeps it simple with a menu of classic Chinese food favorites, as well as some other popular Asian cuisine, like pad Thai and Vietnamese Pho noodle soups. The diversity of that menu is worth noting, but the dishes I tried have not impressed me.
The Beavercreek area covers a huge area of the eastern Dayton area, and it’s home to a pretty major number of the city’s residents, thanks in part to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Wright State University. One of the many Chinese food take out options, New Great Wall Chinese Restaurant is a family-run establishment, and indeed you’ll see a lot of this little family running about if you happen to visit. All in all, the food here is a pretty safe option if you’re a big fan of Chinese take-out.
It’s unrelated to the Timmy’s Wok restaurants in Cincinnati, but the Fairborn Timmy’s Wok, east of Dayton, offers much the same thing that the others do: it’s a Chinese food take out option serving the surrounding neighborhoods with a cheap option for delivery food. While this spot offers much the same kind of dishes that dozens of others in the city like it, it’s got a slightly different take on many of those dishes that makes this spot all its own kind of food. I’m a fan.
Beavercreek’s China Wok — independent of other restaurants in town with the same name — is a Chinese take out option for the east neighborhoods of the Dayton area. It’s got a lunch buffet and it’s got a hundred options for different kinds of takeout combinations you can order. It’s not a flashy place, in fact it’s only to be found if you really know where to look for it, a small strip mall settled among many other restaurants. The food is priced a little below average for this town but I’m thinking the quality is there too.
A Chinese takeout option serving south Kettering in Dayton, Peking Garden is an option for Chinese food for most of the suburbs of southeast Dayton. It’s not a fancy operation, in fact it’s sort of tucked away in a strip mall in the suburbs that is almost impossible to find unless you know where you’re looking. Still, the Chinese food this spot offers is hit and miss in terms of what I liked and didn’t like. As with many of the spots in town, this one has specialties.
Fairborn’s list of Chinese food places are pretty heavily focused on good delivery options, because they’re right in the middle of some of the biggest markets for good delivery food, being between Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s massive population of base employees and Wright State University’s large student body. And it’s good then, that the food here comes in huge portions. It’s a tad pricier than some of the other spots in terms of food, but it’s also a guaranteed two or three meals and there’s definitely something to be said for that.
Hunan Wok has been the centrally located take out destination for the south Dayton suburb of Centerville for about 10 years, commanding a major share of suburban delivery business from a modest space in a large strip mall. It’s got the basic Chinese food menu with a few variations, and it’s the place a lot of locals pick south of town for its convenience.
The Chinese spot seems to have a following, and a lot of people seem to swear by it, but I’ve just never had a good experience with the food here, so I don’t know what the hype has been about.
Dragon City is a neighborhood Chinese food option in the heart of Kettering, and so it can serve much of south Dayton with its delivery and pickup service. There’s about no online presence, but the menu is just about the same as every similar-looking place in town. There’s a definite convenience factor here, in that they deliver, but I don’t suggest the place if you have a choice.
