The Salty Iguana is a small 5-restaurant chain of tex-mex food based around Kansas City, Missouri. Sorry, adventurous eaters, they do not serve iguana. The chain’s comical theme includes iguana artwork covering the walls of the eateries.
Salty Iguana really was a very pleasant experience. It offers a large dining room, outdoor patio and indoor bar, so almost any crowd could come to enjoy the experience. An immense menu offers a healthy variety of options no matter what a person is looking for. Service is quick, even during peak hours.
Quesadilla with spicy beef/pork combo: $7.99
Chips and salsa are offered generously as appetizers, and the servers are quick to replenish these. The chips are average, but the salsa is wonderful; and it comes in mild and spicy; two very good flavors. The beef and pork are cooked incredibly well; I was particularly impressed with how the two were combined into the dish I ordered. Salty Iguana is definitely a great place to go with a large group.
